Hi All
I have never used this forum before but I have a 1982/3 ish Colecovision console with about 45 games and other add ons.. My dad designed the toy box for the UK and me and my brother were paid (yep!) to play the games so that my dad could work out what best to go on the cartridges and box. Anyway, I found it in the loft the other day and am desperate to play some games. However I cant get it to work. I cant see that the console has any light to show it is on or off, nor has the power supply and so I don't know which bit may be broken. Am I right in thinking there are no on/off lights to show where the power is getting to? Or is it simply that I need to tune my tele do you think?
Any help would be great.
Thanks a lot.

Hi Chris,
I can answer one question of yours which is about the power light. The Colecovision did not have a power light to tell you whether the system was on or off which is a big criticism from a lot of people (including many fans of the system). I was a little confused about the system you have, is it a home made system? I would check the power cord (this is usually a huge, bulky block) because these are notoriously poor quality. I ordered a system from the States through Ebay with 10 games and couldn't get the system to turn on. I would just see a black screen with a buzzing sound and I waited too long to get my money back because it was sent to my brother-in-law's who lives in the States and the guy insisted it worked when he sold it to me. So basically I had to suck it up and figure out how to get it to work. My buddy got a voltmeter and it was hardly registering any power. I went to a game supply place (that supplies a lot of retro systems) and got another power cord and it works great.
The hook up is quite simple usually just an RF adapter which just takes your rf cable and adapts it so it can hook up to the antenna part of your TV. This will work if you are using a new type of TV (LED, LCD etc.) Good luck. I hope this helps.

Hi - sorry I didn't come back to you to thank you for answering my post. All okay now - long story but it turned out to be more a tuning problem with my TV. All up and running and reliving my childhood! :-)
Thanks again for taking the time to respond
Chris
